How Do I Send and Receive Faxes?

Fax Service

You have three faxing options if your business has added Fax Service to the account. 

  1. Clarity's eFax service allows you to send and receive secure Faxes, right from your email address.
  2. If you have a physical fax machine, you may connect via an ATA adapter, and continue to use your physical fax machine.
  3. With either of the above options, you may also add Portal Faxing as an option at no cost. If Portal Faxing is added to an Extension/User, they will be able receive and/or send faxes from Portal

How Do I Send an eFax?

Documents sent can be in any of the following formats:  .pdf, .doc, .docx, .rtf, .tif, .tiff, or .txt.  The size limit for email attachments is 25mb.  Some organizations may have their own protocols on how large a fax they can receive.  

You must be assigned a Fax number to Fax from your Email Address

Instructions
  1. Scan the document or documents to be faxed.  

  2. Compose a new email using any of the email addresses authorized to send from your fax number.   
    1. Use either of these two formats:   1+10digitfaxnumber@clarityfax.com or 10digitfaxnumber@clarityfax.com
    2. Type any message into the body of the email.  Any text in the body of the email (including the signature) will become the body of the cover letter.

  3. A ttach the documents to be faxed and click Send.



How Do I Send a Fax Through Portal?

If you have added Fax Service, have an assigned Fax Number to your Extension, and we have enabled the send Portal Fax option, you will be able to send Faxes from Portal

Instructions
  1. Click the Fax Tab.
    1. If you have a Manager permission level and are currently in your Manager View,  click your Profile Name in the top right, then choose My Account.  You can then choose the Fax Tab.


  2.  You will be in your Inbox view by default. 
    1. Click Send Fax.  


  3. A pop-up window of Fax options will open. 
    1. Browse for your attachment. 
    2. Make your Send Fax Option selections. 
    3. Choose Send


  4. A copy of the fax will appear in the Sent folder.   
    1. You may highlight the Fax to download or delete the fax from the Sent folder.

 

How Do I Receive an eFax?

  1. Faxes sent to your fax number will come directly to the email address(es) that you have on file for fax receipt.
  1. All inbound faxes convert to a text-searchable PDF format.
     

How Do I Receive a Fax Through Portal?

If you have added Fax Service, have an assigned Fax Number to your Extension, and we have enabled the receive Portal Fax option, you will be able to receive Faxes in Portal

Instructions
  1. Click the Fax Tab. 
    1. If you have a Manager permission level and are currently in your Manager View click your Profile Name in the top right, then choose My Account.  You can then choose the Fax Tab.


  2. You will be in your Inbox view by default. 
    1. Any Faxes still in your Inbox will be listed.   



  3.   Highlighting the Fax will give additional options, such as the options to Preview, Download, or Delete the Fax.





How Do I Send or Receive a Fax Through My Fax Machine?

  1. As long as you have added Fax service to your Account and installed the ATA Adapter, you may send and receive faxes as normal through your machine when using our VoIP service.
