User Presence (buddy feature)

User Presence

User Presence

The User Presence Feature allows employees to monitor the statuses of other Extensions.  It is also known as a User/BLF key when the feature is programmed on the physical phone.

  1. BLF keys allow Users to quickly see the availability of other employees, reducing the time spent trying to contact someone who is already on a call or unavailable.

  2.  Knowing the status of other employees can also help prevent interruptions during important calls or meetings, leading to a more productive work environment.

  3. For customer-facing roles, BLF keys can help ensure that calls are directed to available staff, improving response times and customer satisfaction.

What Do BLF Keys Do?

BLF Keys allow users to:
  • See if a monitored employee is available, on a call, or being alerted of a call; and

  • Press the button to quickly call the monitored employee if needed.

How Can I Get This Feature?

The process is easy!
  • Compile a list of employees you’d like to monitor on your physical phone.

  • Contact us and provide us with the list of employees.

  • The Clarity Support Team will set up the feature for you you and ask you to reboot your phones.  When the reboot is complete, you will see the monitored employees next to each of your line keys.

How Do I Use BLF Keys?

  • When the line key light next to the employee’s name is RED, the Employee is on a current phone call.

  • When the line key light next to the employee’s name is GREEN, the Employee is available to receive a call.

  • When there is no color or AMBER on the line key next to the employee’s name, the Employee's phone is offline or unavailable.

  • To call the employee – click the line key button next to their name.

We Use the Web Phones and Mobile App.  Do We Have a User Presence Option?
