Text (SMS) Number Registration FAQs
What is The Campaign Registry?
In order to help regulate spam texts, regulation was passed, and the FCC instituted new rules to help make text messaging more secure and trustworthy.
- Any business that uses SMS texting is now required to register their company with The Campaign Registry (TCR) to validate the legitimacy of the messages.
- This is a mandate across all phone service providers that offer texting to their customers and is not a requirement specific to Clarity Voice.
How Do I Register My Texting Number(s)?
Most of our competitors have chosen to pass on
to their customers the responsibility of registering with The Campaign Registry
(the entity created by the carriers to administer this process and known as
TCR).
- Clarity Voice, in accordance with our Core Values, will register your texting numbers with TCR at no additional cost to you.
- We will pass on the fees which are required
by TCR in your monthly bill. This includes both the initial registration and TCR's monthly fees.
- In order for us to register your number(s), we have compiled the information that TCR requires into one simple online form.
More Texting Registration FAQs
I want to know more about TCR's creation:
The Campaign Registry is an entity created by mobile network operators (MNOs) including carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
- The MNOs created the Campaign Registry to make business SMS messaging more secure, trustworthy, and to help ensure compliance with the new tighter SMS laws enacted by Congress in 2019 and 2020.
- Registration with TCR is mandatory for all businesses that use SMS/texting.
Does it cost me anything to use SMS with my Clarity service?
The SMS texting feature is included with the Business Essentials pricing plan.
- The required Registration with The Campaign Registry (TCR), is: a $4 one-time registration fee, a $15 one-time Campaign Registration fee, and a $1.50/monthly recurring fee.
- Clarity will add these fees to your monthly invoice and will not charge any additional fees for the administrative work necessary to register your phone number with TCR.
fsses which use SMSTCR requires basic business information that includes your Company Legal Name and how your customers opt in/opt out of receiving a text from your business.
- See the screenshots below for a detailed explanation of every part of the form that we use to register your business for you.
SMS/Texting options are available in the Business Essentials plan and above.
