Outbound Business Caller ID comes standard with Clarity service, ensuring that your customers are able to answer or return your calls with ease.
- Caller ID is the telephone number that is displayed when you make an Outbound call.
- Your Extension's assigned Business Caller ID will be displayed when you call out from any Clarity phone device, including the Mobile App, Web Phone, Desk Phone, and Clarity Cellular.
- You will also be able to view the Caller ID of inbound calls as long as the carrier pushes the Caller ID as part of the call. For example, if your caller dialed out as "anonymous", the carrier will block the Caller ID from view.
Caller ID Name (CNAM)
Caller ID Name (CNAM) is the name that is pushed along with your Caller ID when you make an Outbound Call.
- As long as the receiving party has Inbound CNAM as part of their phone plan, they will be able to view both the Caller ID and also the CNAM label that is pushed when you call them.
- Most carriers include Inbound Caller ID as part of their standard phone plan. Not every carrier has Inbound CNAM included at no cost in their standard phone plans.
- CNAM will be set for you by Clarity through the central database. The central database affects calls made to recipients in the United States. There is no central database for CNAM at this time for Canada.
What If I Need More Than One Outbound Caller ID Option?
Some businesses need to dial outbound from from multiple locations.
- We do have solutions for you! We can program your Desk Phones with multiple options so that you can choose the correct Outbound Caller ID with the press of a button.
- For other phones, such as the Web Phone or Mobile App, we can program codes so that you may switch your Outbound Caller ID as needed.
- There is no additional charge for U.S.-based Caller ID. We can program your phones with any of your Clarity numbers.
What If I Have Dialed Out as Anonymous in Error?
If your Extension has turned on Anonymous Outbound calling in error (by dialing *67), simply dial *68 to toggle your privacy back off.
- Anonymous calling is dialing outbound with no Caller ID or CNAM being passed to the receiving party. The receiving party will see an "Unknown" or "Anonymous" label in place of the Caller ID/CNAM.
- Anonymous is not the same as a "Possible Spam" designation. Spam labels are manually added by carriers when calls reach a specific set of their requirements.
