Setting Your Toggle as a Speed Dial

Toggle Codes

Toggle Codes

Toggle Codes allow you to activate and deactivate specific Routing Answering Rules as needed, providing you the flexibility to adjust your Routing at will!   Toggle Codes are sometimes referred to as "Manual Answering Rules".
  1. Toggle Codes are great for Domains who have rotating on-call Employees and/or Routing that needs to change daily or weekly.

  2. In effect, Toggle Codes work like an on/off switch, allowing you to turn "on" the Routing with the code, then when you are ready,  you will turn it "off" with the same code.

How Do Toggles Work?

  1. If you need more flexibility to your Routing, we recommend adding Toggle Codes!  We will program an Answering Rule that can activate at any time and set it to the "off" position.

  2. When you are ready to use the Routing, you will simply dial the Toggle Code from any Device in the Domain, and the Answering Rule will activate to change your Routing.  When you are ready to revert to your programmed Routing, simply dial the Toggle Code again from any Device in the Domain.

  3. You can have more than one Toggle Code for User.  Each Toggle Code will activate on that User only.

How Do I Use a Toggle Code?

From the deskphone:

  1. Dial the 3-digit code and hit #,.  For example, if your Toggle Code is 456, you will dial 456#.   You will hear the message “Forwarding is now Enabled”.

  2. To turn it off, just dial the 3-digit code and hit # again.  You will hear the “Forwarding is now Disabled” message.

From the Mobile App or Web Phone:
  1. Dial just the 3-digit code (no # needed).  For example, if your Toggle Code is 456, you will dial 456.   You will hear the message “Forwarding is now Enabled”.

  2. To turn it off, just dial the 3-digit code and hit # again.  You will hear the “Forwarding is now Disabled” message.

From Portal:
  1. Permission Levels who have Users and Smart Routing can activate Toggle Codes manually from the User or by toggling the on/off switch for the Toggle in Smart Routing

Setting Your Toggle as a Speed Dial

If you use a desk phone, we can program your Toggles as a Speed Dial button.  Let us save your Codes to your phones to make activating and deactivating easy for your Employees.
  1. Just call in and let us know which phones need the Toggles.  We’ll program your Speed Dial shortcuts for each Toggle Code.

  2. You will press the line key (button) when you want to activate and deactivate the Toggle

How Do I Get a Toggle Code?

  1. Just contact us!  We will just need to know which phone numbers need this Routing option and where the Routing should go when the Toggle is activated.

  2. We will set up the Answering Rules on the matching Users and program a Toggle Code for you.

  3. We will give you the Toggle Code to use.  If you need to change the Routing of that Toggle, you can contact us or if you have the ability to edit Users, you can make the change in the Users Tab.
